The CASES curriculum is being used in a number of research projects.
Impact of Online Professional Development project (IOPD)
The Impact of Online Professional Development project is designed to enhance understanding of how online professional development environments contribute to teacher learning, changes in classroom practice, and changes in student learning in comparison to face-to-face professional development. We explore this issue in the context of secondary school teachers learning to teach Investigations in Environmental Science.

ROLE-NSF Adolescent Literacy Support Project (ALSP)
The aim of the Adolescent Literacy Support Project is to create classroom learning environments that support increased science achievement through better and more purposeful reading. ALSP is building and employing three literacy support tools for teachers and students to use in science classrooms. Teachers couple their use of the tools with disciplinary text and science assessment as they implement Investigations in Environmental Science. ALSP supports teachers through professional development sessions designed to strengthen science instruction through reading. Meaningful Science Consortium and Chicago Public Schools
Developed an instructional development system (IDS) for the Chicago Public Schools. This IDS framework is a science sequence for 9th, 10th and 11th grade. CASES is the curriculum that kicks off the sequence and used in 9th grade. The CASES team in this project is currently developing a tailored year-long teacher support program for the Chicago Public Schools. For more information about this project see http://www.meaningfulscience.org.
